Machining

Machining is a part of the manufacturing of many metal products, but it can also be used for other materials such as wood, plastic, ceramics, and composite materials. Those who specialize in mechanical processing are called machinists. The room, building, or company where machining is carried out is called a machining workshop. Many modern machining processes are carried out through computer numerical control (CNC), where computers are used to control the motion and operation of milling machines, lathes, and other cutting machines. This improves efficiency as CNC machines operate unattended, thereby reducing labor costs in machining workshops.
